Throw the perfect Halloween party
Us Brits aren't all that fond of trick-or-treating and there are many safer and far more fun ways to celebrate Halloween, such as throwing a big, scary party because everyone can enjoy a party whether they like Halloween or not.

Don't put a candle in your jack-o-lantern, get your Christmas fairy lights out early and put those in the pumpkin instead, not only is it much safer, you don't get that weird smell of slowly cooked pumpkin.

Get a couple of the gloves with the long fingers attached and split guests into teams. Have a couple of large bowls or hollowed pumpkins and fill with rice crispies cereal, or jelly worms or whatever and have a spider ring for every member in too...teamates take turns finding their one ring,,,first team to finish wins...
Or, get rolls of loo roll, and have two teams nominate one person from their team...teamates then have one minute to decorate their mummy....good laughs.
I love halloween...cant wait till Saturday to get my party started! Mwahhahahaha!

Whatever happened to Guy Fawkes and the old British tradition of " A penny for the Guy".
Now we are being swamped with Americanisation what with Proms and Hi and Guys.
I hope no one comes knocking for trick or treat on my door, they may get an earful of my objections to this rubbish.

You obviously don't have any sense of fun.
Theres nothing more enjoyable as a parent of small children - to watch their delight in being spooked, having a party with friends and enjoying trick or treating and all the festivities. Times have moved on - maybe you need to as well. Hope you get lots of knocks on doors on Saturday!

unfortunately mr moyes you are incorrect it is an irish tradition originally, then when they moved to the americas it was introduced there.
when i was young we did penny for the guy, but now that is classed as begging,
